No Fan Of Fuschia!

So recently I decided that it was time to dye my hair red again!  I have dyed it red once before, and I loved it!  The red really makes my green eyes pop, and well my eyes are my favorite feature, so you can see how that fits together. ;)

While my beautiful friend was dying my hair it was kind of nerve racking.  This time around I was using a different type of hair dye and well...once the dye had been mixed up it was FUSCHIA!  Yes, bright pink!  I was starting to wonder what I had gotten myself into, and I was also hoping that I wouldn't end up with pink hair!  So I trustingly allowed my friend to start putting the hair dye on my hair, once she was done and my entire head was covered in this fuschia madness, we let it sit for a little while and I went to take a look in the mirror.  Much to my surprise my hair was now DARK PURPLE!  You can only imagine how badly I was freaking out!  With the hair dye I used last time this insane color changing madness, never happened!   At this point I'm just hoping that my hair actually turns ourt red...and not pink!

"Bye, Bye, Brown Hair!"

The dye is in and we let it sit for about 30 minutes, and then it's time to rinse it out.  It's the moment of truth, when I get to know if my hair is red or....fuschia. My friend starts to rinse my hair out in the bath tub, and after about a minute or so the bath tub looks like it's filled with red wine.  I was relieved that as we were rinsing it out the water was turning red, that's a good sign right? :)  We rinse my hair out (Which seemed like it took for ever!) then shampoo it twice, then condition it, and rinse it one more time! Such a long process!   Then I was finally able to stand up and brush my hair out, I looked up into our mirror and I tell ya it was a miracle!  My hair was red!  Not fuschia!  Let me just say that I was a really happy girl at this point. ;)

"Hello gorgeous red hair!"

I realized that the above photo doesn't really capture the red because I'm using my iPhone camera, so I whipped out my nicer camera and snapped a few pictures so that you all could see the color of my hair better. :)  I would also like to note that the curls in my hair, in the above pictures, are all natural I literally don't have to do anything to my hair for it to be THAT curly!  But my curly hair, and different tips on how to embrace your natural curly hair, is another post all by it's self! ;)

As you can see the under side/ bottom of my hair isn't as red as the roots.  But that's okay with me.  My friend wanted to re dye my hair so that it was all the same shade but I said it wasn't necessary!   I really love my wonderfully red hair, and I also love dying my hair!  Oh, and a little birdie once told me that Kaitlyn may be dying her hair soon too! I guess we will just have to wait and see if she does! :)

What colors have you dyed your hair?  Have you had any scary "fuschia" moments?

Thrift Store Find -Kaitlyn

Hello!  I'm here with one of my favorite kinds of posts and that would be, Thrift Store Finds!  The only thing I dislike about these are, that you can never go find the same item in your thrift store. Well, in most cases you can't.
It's still fun to show off the great deals you get at thrift stores.   I don't go to thirft shops as much as I would like, but that could be a good thing because I always manage to find something I want. Lol ;)

Anyway, let's get on with what I found...or what my little sister found.  I was distracted looking through the tops when Madison (14) came walking up behind me in a pair of wicker heel sandals that I knew she didn't own.  She and Kristen (15) smiled and then told me they looked like something I would buy.  And of course, they were right.  I liked everything about the pair and they looked like they were hardly ever worn.

I purchased these pretty shoes for just $3 at my local thrift store.

Our Favorite Hair Styles!

There are different kinds of favorite hair styles I have for different lengths of my hair but there is one that will forever be my favorite and that would be lose curls.  I never cut my hair shorter than shoulder length so I can always do lose curls.    My hair is currently the length where I wish it was either longer or shorter because I'm not a fan of the "in between" stage.   Simply because my hair is extremely thick and I have layers. Where I live there is hardly ever a day when there isn't humidity in the air, it takes me well over ten minutes to flat iron my hair and once I step out the door it's all over.  My hair is naturally curly/wavy and not really in a good way.  It's more wild than pretty.

That's why this is one of my favorite hair style to do.  It's so easy, simple and doesn't take a long time either.

Just thought I would share with you my favorite casual style that works best for me. :)  I'll do a tutorial sometime and post it. :)  T

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh the joys of hair!  You can cut it, grow it out, dye it, style it, there are never ending possibilities with hair!  Now some of us don't always venture into the countless things you can do with your hair, and others do!  For me and my personality, I have cut it short and kept it long, I've dyed it dark brown, auburn, but I don't usually wear my hair any other way than flat ironed.  It's my comfort zone, and I know that we all have one! ;)

When I was younger I was never too concerned with my appearance.  Now mind you I grew up in a house of boys, who are all rough and tumble, dirt and bugs!  I wanted to be just like them, then I got older and realized that I should start caring about my appearance! Ha.   That is when I mastered the art of flat ironing my hair. So every morning, to this day I get up and flat iron my hair.  It's my go to, everyday, easy-peasy, hair style.  The great thing about flat ironing my hair is that, with it straight I can pull my bangs back, or braid a side of my hair back, and it still looks cute, plus...It's easy.  I love easy! :)   I will be sure to do a tutorial on how to flat iron shorter hair, for those of you that have yet to master the art of flat ironing!

We would love to know what your 'comfort zone' hair style is!  Comment below and share it with us! :)
